Columbia Childrens Center, a nonprofit community daycare center, providing full-time care for children ages six weeks to four years old. CCC is licensed by New York State Office of Children and Family Services and operates year-round with six classrooms and a team of qualified, experienced teachers who follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum, including daily outdoor play.
We are looking to bring on an experienced early childhood educator to lead our oldest 3's and 4's classroom, and assistant teachers/floaters to support! These positions would coordinate closely with our team to implement the preschool program. This is an exciting opportunity to have a tremendous impact on our oldest children before they leave our program.
Schedule:
- Full time - Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week

General Responsibilities
- Become familiar with and comply with all internal policies and NYS OCFS rules and regulations for licensed daycare centers (training provided)
- Oversee the safety and supervision of children
- Engage with children in meaningful, respectful, and supportive ways
- Build positive relationships with children, their families, and our team of staff
- Collaborate on the creation and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Complete annual training requirements
- Keep records of each childs progress, interests and any problems that may occur
Skills
- Nurturing attitude and passion for working with young children
- Ability to organize and manage a classroom
- Excellent communication skills
Required Qualifications:
- Lead Teacher:
- Associates Degree or higher in ECE or related field
- Assistant Teacher/Floater:
- High school diploma/GED or higher
- ALL teachers must meet any additional state specific guidelines (fingerprinting, background check); applicants and new hires can be rejected or terminated based on an unacceptable background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in licensed childcare
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
Pay:
- Starts from $18-$22 per hour - compensation is negotiable and based on experience and skill
Work Location: In person-reliable transportation is required
