JOB PURPOSE:

The Clinical Manager, Recovery Center -Massillon (MRC)reports directly to the Director of Inpatient Behavioral Services and has the primary responsibility of assisting in the development, planning, and supervision of all behavioral services. The MRC of Behavioral Services is mainly responsible for assisting with overall management and supervision to the various clinical teams, including overseeing all nursing operations and security department, collaborating with counseling services as well as working with the providers and treatment teams. He/She performs a wide variety of job duties during their shifts, caring for and educating patients about their medical and psychiatric conditions, establishing trust, and building rapport with patients and staff and assisting the Director in the day-to-day management of the clinical operations. The MRC will assist the Director of Inpatient Behavioral Services in developing, planning, implementing, and managing various aspects of the program and clinical departments. This includes ensuring that all clinical services are delivered in accordance with established standards of care and regulations, program operates in compliance with license and credentialing requirements, process and policies are reviewed, developed and followed, overall budget is within target, quality metrics achievement, and assisting with employee relations. He/She may be required to function in the role of the Director of Nursing in the absence of or by directive from the Director of Inpatient Behavioral Services. This position is defined by the U.S. Department of Labor and as exempt.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies development opportunities for program services and monitors patient service priorities and assists to secure resources necessary to meet the service delivery needs.
  • Assists in program development and expansion of services.
  • Assists in overseeing daily operational activities to ensure that service delivery is safe, effective, and efficient.
  • Works collaboratively with the care center and other teams to coordinate the admission workflow, ensure updated access for patients both in and out of the facility.
  • Monitors clinical staff assignments within the clinical teams to ensure that adequate staffing levels are flexed to provide a therapeutic environment and meet the needs of the patients.
  • Oversees and implements work schedules that meet changing patient care needs for nursing staff specifically but collaborates with other teams as deemed necessary by Director.
  • Responsible for staffing, schedules and timecard review and approvals.
  • Provides ongoing evaluation and management of team leaders, clinicians, and program support staff. Uses coaching techniques to ensure accountability to providing high quality standard of care.
  • Assists in Interviewing, hiring, orienting, and supervising inpatient team and participates in conjunction with team supervisors, the clinical and support staff.
  • Meet with multi-disciplinary leaders and staff frequently, to report any facility/staff/or client concerns or problems.
  • Develops and monitors safety policies and procedures in conjunction with the Director of Inpatient Behavioral Services.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards.
  • Responsible for assisting in identifying quality indicators, data collection & follow-up for improving organizational performance across clinical program.
  • Reviews and educates staff regarding documentation and clinical practice including: inspection of medical charts to ensure compliance with QI & QA Policy & procedures, as well as all other regulatory and clinical and medical standards.
  • Ensure all required detox services and protocols are met and delivered in a timely manner and pursuant to regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Creates and supports interpersonal relationships and promotes a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the companys policies.
  • Work in conjunction with contracted pharmacy and staff regarding medication oversight and compliance to medication standards.
  • Oversee management of supply inventory, ensuring PAR levels are accurate for volumes.
  • Monitors the level of clinical activity within the clinical teams to define referral trends, areas of increased service needs, and staffing patterns.
  • Assists with staffing gaps as needed, including ASAM coverage.
  • Identifies educational gaps and assists in promotion and facilitation of continued education for staff.
  • Assesses the full scope of patient needs using the nursing process on a continuous basis, assisting with patient educational needs.
  • Accountable for nursing practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development.
  • Participates in community events and promotes a positive image for OVP Health.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in OH and compact licensure required.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Nursing Certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive management experience recommended.
  • Experience in an inpatient setting strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

  • Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Functional and situational reasoning ability to gather and apply factual information, exercise sound judgment, problem solve and apply principles of influence systems such as motivation, team building, accountability, coaching/counseling of staff and leadership within the scope of the position.
  • Mathematical Aptitude for budgetary, funding, cost benefits analysis and general business purposes.

  • Ability to lift minimum 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position. Work hours will be variable but will include evening hours and scheduled to accommodate a 24/7 inpatient facility. Call rotation required.
