The Cardiology Division at our organization is in search of a full-time Electrophysiologist to fill the role of Assistant or Associate Professor within our expanding academic faculty. This position provides a unique chance to engage in a comprehensive range of electrophysiology practices in a supportive academic setting.
We are enhancing our team, which currently consists of 18 cardiologists and 5 advanced practice providers, to address the growing demand for our services. Established in 1839, our institution is one of the oldest private medical schools in the nation and hosts the only academic tertiary care hospital in the Capital Region.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage an outpatient electrophysiology clinic, including outreach initiatives
- Conduct inpatient consultations for electrophysiology
- Perform ablation procedures and device implantations
- Collaborate with faculty in advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiovascular imaging
- Facilitate the education and development of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers
Required Qualifications:
- MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Clinical Electrophysiology
- Clinical focus with research experience and teaching capabilities suitable for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor
- Valued leadership qualities and attributes
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care
- A strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and advancing the field of cardiology; experience with complex ablations, lead extraction, and advanced device therapy is highly preferred
- Ability to teach, mentor, and work alongside medical students, residents, cardiology fellows, and other healthcare professionals
- Eligibility for academic appointment and medical licensure in New York State
