Key Responsibilities

  • Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
  • Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
  • Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
  • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
  • Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
  • Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Emergency Room or related nursing specialty.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting.
