Position Overview
The Senior Tax Manager will oversee the tax compliance and planning functions for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to guide the tax team in delivering high-quality service and ensuring compliance with income tax laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review the preparation and filing of various tax returns including 1040, 1041, 1120S, and 1065
- Lead tax planning initiatives and provide strategic recommendations to clients
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing training and development opportunities
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve service delivery
- Prepare and review tax provision calculations and financial statement disclosures
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management
- Experience with C-Corps, S-Corps, and partnerships
- Knowledge of estates and trusts taxation
- Experience with tax compliance and tax planning strategies
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Master's degree in Taxation or related field is preferred
- Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
