Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to join our team in Nashua, New Hampshire, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for handling patient admissions and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
• Facilitate patient admissions by assigning accurate medical record numbers, conducting medical necessity checks, and providing clear instructions to patients.
• Collect and verify insurance information, process physician orders, and utilize system tools to ensure data accuracy while delivering compassionate customer service.
• Handle pre-registration tasks, including inbound and outbound calls to collect patient demographics, insurance details, and financial liabilities.
• Manage point-of-service collections and payment plans, ensuring patients understand their financial responsibilities.
• Explain and obtain signatures for consent forms and distribute necessary patient education materials, such as Medicare and Tricare notices.
• Review insurance eligibility responses and input benefit data into the system to support billing and claim processes.
• Screen medical necessity using designated software and inform Medicare patients about potential non-payment, ensuring proper documentation.
• Conduct quality audits of patient accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance, providing statistical data to leadership teams.
• Utilize reporting systems to correct accounts and support clean claim rates across departments and facilities.• Proven experience in customer service within a healthcare or administrative setting.
• Strong skills in data entry and the ability to manage large volumes of information accurately.
• Familiarity with collections processes, including point-of-service collections and payment plans.
• Ability to explain consent forms and patient education materials clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency in verifying insurance eligibility and entering benefit data into systems.
• Knowledge of medical necessity screening tools and processes.
• Experience conducting audits and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive patient interactions effectively.
