- M-F, 5:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., or 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., or 3 pm - 7 pm
- E/O Weekend
Compensation: $15-17/hour
Under the direction of the Building & Grounds Director, the housekeeping & custodial staff is responsible for the hands-on daily cleaning and upkeep of the YMCA facility and property. This role involves actively performing cleaning tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for members, staff, and visitors. The housekeeping & custodial staff plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, addressing maintenance concerns, and ensuring that all areas of the facility are well-maintained and properly stocked.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Actively perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and removing trash.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces multiple times throughout the shift.
- Physically handle cleaning equipment such as mops, brooms, vacuums, pressure washers, and floor scrubbers to ensure floors, carpets, and other surfaces are kept in top condition.
- Replenish and restock soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other necessary supplies in restrooms and common areas.
- Record and report any needed repairs, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to the Building & Grounds Director in a timely manner.
- Assist with setting up and arranging furniture or equipment for meetings, events, and special programs as needed.
- Create a safe and welcoming environment by remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activity that may pose a risk to members, staff, or visitors. Be attentive to signs of potential child abuse or conduct violations and report concerns according to YMCA policies.
- Keep cleaning supplies and equipment organized and properly maintained, ensuring that all products are used and stored safely.
- Perform additional physical cleaning duties as assigned by the Building & Grounds Director to support the overall cleanliness and safety of the YMCA.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and cleaning supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision.
