Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer (Machine Shop Environment)
Schedule: M-F full- or part-time; 7am start (some flexibility available up to 8am start)
Role: Contract-to-perm for right fit
Pay: $30-40/hour
Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to support a fast-paced machine shop specializing in quick-turn, short-run production. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and can efficiently inspect a wide variety of in-process parts while maintaining accuracy and production flow.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CMM programming and inspection processes, be comfortable reading blueprints, and possess solid knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection procedures.
Responsibilities
· Perform in-process and final inspections on machined parts in a busy machine shop environment
· Inspect quick-turn and short-run production parts with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency
· Program and operate CMM equipment to verify part dimensions and specifications
· Utilize CMM Manager software for inspection programming and reporting
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T specifications
· Use precision inspection tools including calipers, gauges, pins, micrometers, and related measuring equipment
· Support production by identifying quality concerns and ensuring parts meet required tolerances
· Work closely with machinists and production staff to maintain quality standards and efficient workflow
· Assist with troubleshooting dimensional or quality issues as needed
Qualifications
· Experience in quality inspection within a machining or manufacturing environment required
· Strong knowledge of CMM programming and operation required
· Experience with CMM Manager software required
· Experience with Mitutoyo Bright A710 CMM equipment is a plus, but not required
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
· Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment
· Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
· Hands-on approach with the ability to support quick production turnaround timelines
