Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels to support production and customer requirements. This includes receiving, labeling, tracking, and staging all materials and components using ERP systems and established inventory management practices. The role works closely with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure efficient inventory flow and minimal discrepancies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify materials and components from vendors and in-house production against purchase orders and Bills of Material (BOM)
- Label, record, and store materials in appropriate locations using ERP or Excel systems
- Monitor inventory movement in and out of the facility and ensure real-time data accuracy
- Stage components for job-specific use and maintain updated records throughout each project
- Perform regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconcile discrepancies
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, and Project Management to resolve any issues with missing, damaged, or incorrect items
- Maintain documentation related to inventory transactions and adjustments
- Utilize ERP/WMS systems to process orders and generate inventory reports
- Ensure adequate stock levels to meet demand while minimizing overstock and preventing shortages
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred)
- Experience in shipping and receiving (preferred)
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and record-keeping
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Able to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
