We are seeking an experienced Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems integration, mechanical design, and product development from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant engineering experience and at least 5+ years of advanced SolidWorks proficiency.
This position plays a key role in the innovation, design, prototyping, and production support of our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards for quality, performance, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electromechanical systems and components for Phiston’s product line.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for manufacturing.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and FEA simulations to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Integrate electrical and control systems into mechanical designs, collaborating closely with electrical engineers.
- Develop prototypes and oversee testing to validate design functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Manage the design process from concept through production, including BOM creation and change control.
- Work with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effective production and assembly.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of professional experience in electromechanical product design.
- 5+ years of hands-on SolidWorks experience (3D modeling, surfacing, assemblies, drawings).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, plastics, assembly).
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
- Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Familiarity with electrical system integration (motors, wiring harnesses, sensors).
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in data destruction equipment, security devices, or related industries.
- Familiarity with ASME, ISO, and other engineering standards.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
This is a full time position where benefits include medial, dental and vision coverage as well as 401k benefits. The Salary range for this position is $120k - $150k
