Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An immediate full-time opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in grades ranging from kindergarten through sixth grade. This contract position, located in Antioch, TN, begins as soon as possible with a scheduled end date at the close of the 2025-2026 school year. There is potential for rehire for the following academic year based on performance. The role requires on-site presence, supporting one school with a dedicated schedule of Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored special education instruction to students with various disabilities, including behavior disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, and social and emotional challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Employ effective behavioral intervention strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate with parents, staff, and administration.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the learning styles of different age groups typically in K-2nd or 3rd-6th grades.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Special education endorsement certification is required; preferred credentials include Interventionist or Comprehensive Developmental Delay endorsements.
- Open to new graduates with relevant qualifications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with special education leadership and school teams.
Additional Details:
