NOW HIRING!!! A-Line is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to support a fast-paced Long Term Care pharmacy environment. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is passionate about patient safety, accuracy, and delivering exceptional service within a dynamic healthcare setting.

In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring medications are processed, verified, and dispensed accurately for long-term care facilities. You will work closely with pharmacy technicians and other healthcare professionals to support safe and efficient medication distribution while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.


Job Title: Pharmacist – Long Term Care Pharmacy
Location: Onsite
Employment Type: Contract (90-day assignment with potential for extension)
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week; overtime may be available)


Overview

This is a fully onsite position and offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative pharmacy team focused on quality, service, and continuous improvement.


Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented pharmacist with a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering safe and efficient medication services. Success in this role requires excellent customer service, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume pharmacy environment.


Schedule

  • Shift Length: 8.5-hour shifts (includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break)
  • Operating Hours:
    • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
    • Saturday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
    • Sunday: 12:00 PM – 6:30 PM
  • Assignment Schedule: Varies weekly based on business needs within the hours listed above
  • On-Call Rotation: Participation required
    • On-call hours: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM, 7 days per week
  • Holiday Coverage: Required on a rotating basis
  • Pharmacy operates 365 days per year


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate entry and verification of prescription orders
  • Verify technician-entered orders for accuracy and completeness
  • Review new and refill prescriptions for correct labeling and packaging
  • Conduct drug utilization review, including screening for drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies
  • Maintain pharmacy security and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ensure prescriptions are processed and dispensed in accordance with required delivery schedules
  • Assist with controlled substance management, including perpetual inventory for Schedule II medications
  • Prepare and/or supervise preparation of sterile IV medications when required
  • Ensure compliance with DEA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and HIPAA
  • Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage based on operational needs
  • Support a culture of quality, service, and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Strong clinical knowledge, including interpretation of:
    • Drug-drug interactions
    • Drug-disease interactions
    • Drug-food interactions
    • Allergy contraindications
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations


Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) required
