Overview:
This role will support a team providing acquisition and financial support to the Department of Energy (DOE), Naval Reactors Headquarters (NRHQ), the program office responsible for overseeing the nation's nuclear shipbuilding. NRHQ is a unique program, spanning both the DOE and the Department of Defense (DOD). This role will support the Virginia-class Submarine Program (O8C).This role will be located at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C., allowing for aproximately 20% remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all nuclear industrial base monitoring efforts for the Virginia-class Submarine Program.
  • Collect, analyze, and prepare reports on industrial base and shipbuilding improvement efforts, Submarine Industrial Base investments, advanced technology development, and workforce development to make recommendations that support shipbuilding plans.
  • Assist with the development of policy recommendations, talking points, briefs and related materials in support of senior management decisions.
  • Communicate and develop strategies with supervisor shipbuilding, program offices, and other defense agencies for collection, analysis, and reporting of information in the areas of procurement, contract/subcontract administration, nuclear material management, and cost control.
  • Support the tracking of funds directed toward uplifting the nuclear industrial base and shipbuilding industrial base at large.
  • Provide project management oversight for industrial base project execution including earned value tracking, milestone tracking, and project health.
  • Evaluate and prioritize industrial base projects.
  • Coordinate efforts between technical and acquisition programs and processes.
  • Participate in DOE, DOD, and interagency working groups related to the defense industrial base.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a minimum of a DOD Secret clearance or DOE L clearance, an active DOD TS clearance or DOE Q clearance is preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in similarly complex roles.
  • Experience with one of the following areas is preferred– defense industrial base, nuclear industrial base, shipbuilding industrial base, supply chain, project management, or DOE/DOD acquisition.
  • Experience developing dashboards (i.e. Tableau, PowerBI, etc) and/or programming is a plus.
  • Must possess excellent writing skills, critical thinking abilities, attention to detail, and reliability.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of classified document handling requirements.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently with little day-to-day oversight.
  • Must possess strong data analysis skills.
