JOB SUMMARYThe Strategy & Operations Contractor is responsible for managing the end-to-end onboarding experience for Large Order/Catering merchants. This role ensures merchants launch quickly, accurately, and with a high-quality ordering experience that reduces churn and operational defects. The contractor will own onboarding activities from post-sale handoff through go-live and early-life stabilization, focusing on menu readiness, metadata collection, and merchant satisfaction. This is a remote role, with candidates required to sit in EST or CST time zones.
Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Merchant Onboarding & Launch Management

  • Own the onboarding journey for new merchants joining the Large Order/Catering program
  • Conduct onboarding calls to set expectations, confirm readiness, and review program requirements
  • Guide merchants through onboarding milestones including menu readiness, fulfillment expectations, lead times, and order prep standards
  • Identify onboarding risks and drive resolution through structured follow-ups
  • Provide post-launch support to resolve quality gaps and improve merchant satisfaction
  • Document outcomes, issues, and learnings to improve onboarding playbooks

Onboarding Quality Gates: Menu Audits & Readiness

  • Perform structured menu audits to identify missing or incomplete information
  • Update menus with critical ordering details (serving sizes, minimum quantities, allergen info, item descriptions, packaging clarity)
  • Coordinate with merchants to confirm accuracy of menu information prior to launch
  • Ensure menu quality aligns with program standards to reduce customer friction

Merchant Metadata Collection

  • Collect and organize merchant metadata required for Large Order discoverability and product functionality
  • Capture cuisine type, dietary accommodations, price points, serving sizes, and food categories
  • Validate data accuracy directly with merchants and ensure completeness before launch
  • Provide structured, consistently formatted data to support product improvements

Success Metrics

  • Merchants complete onboarding quickly with minimal back-and-forth
  • Menus and metadata meet quality standards at launch, reducing churn and ordering friction
  • Fewer post-launch issues and escalations, stronger merchant satisfaction
  • Repeatable onboarding processes and improvements captured for scale

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in merchant onboarding, operations, or program management
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage multiple onboarding projects simultaneously
  • Experience with menu audits, metadata collection, and operational workflows
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with catering or large order programs
  • Background in e-commerce, food delivery, or merchant operations
  • Familiarity with structured data collection and reporting tools
