Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Glenside, Pennsylvania. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will be skilled in regulatory filings, financial reporting, and maintaining internal controls.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and submit quarterly and annual financial statements and other required reports to the state in compliance with National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) guidelines.
• Compile and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial transactions and reporting processes.
• Monitor evolving insurance regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors to support financial and operational audits.
• Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analytical insights on financial trends.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
• Participate in special financial projects as needed.• Proven experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and billing processes.
• Strong proficiency in account reconciliation and general accounting functions.
• Solid understanding of financial reporting and regulatory compliance within the insurance industry.
• Ability to work with complex financial data and maintain high levels of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
