Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthetic care to patients in the PACU.

• Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery progress post-surgery.

• Participate in continuous professional development and training programs.

• Assess and manage patients' pain levels effectively.

• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless patient transitions.

• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.

• Utilize performance metrics to enhance patient care outcomes.

• Adapt to changing patient needs and dynamic work environments.

• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the PACU.

• Engage in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.

Experience/Qualifications

• Possess a valid RN license in New Mexico.

• Minimum of 2 years experience in PACU or similar post-anesthetic care settings.

• Demonstrate proficiency in monitoring and interpreting vital signs.

• Strong ability to assess and manage patient pain levels.

• Excellent communication skills for patient and family education.

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with surgical teams.

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and safety standards.

• Proficiency in documenting patient care activities accurately.

• Experience in utilizing performance metrics for patient care improvement.
