Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of Zema Globals financial operations as the business continues to grow across global commodities and energy markets.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role owns the day-to-day accounting function, leads the monthly and year-end close, and acts as a technical accounting authority across multiple legal entities. Success in this role means tight financial controls, clean audits, confident application of U.S. GAAP, and an accounting operation that supports faster, better decision-making across the business.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance detail with pace, operate comfortably in a multi-entity environment, and continuously improve processes as the company scales. The Accounting Manager will be a trusted partner to Finance leadership, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders, helping ensure Zema Globals financial foundation remains strong as the company expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the accounting team in day-to-day operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee and ensure thetimelyandaccuratecompletion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, in full compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Act as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax advisors, managing audits and regulatory reporting for Zema Services UK and Zema Singapore.
  • Interpret and apply complex accounting standards and technical guidance, such as ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases).
  • Maintainaccuratevendor and customer records within NetSuite, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial schedules, execution of amortization schedules, and conduct regular revenue-to-budget variance analyses.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory, tax, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensuretimelyandappropriate recordingof accrualsin accordance withaccounting standards and company policy.
  • Lead the maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies to support audit readiness and financial integrity.
  • Identifyand implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy across accounting operations.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and ongoing development opportunities for accounting staff to support skill growth and team performance.


Required Qualifications

Must Have

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a managerial or lead role
  • Proven experience working in a complex, multi-entity environment, ideally within Commodities, Energy, Financial Services, or a similarly regulated industry
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with hands-on experience applying ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 Leases
  • End-to-end ownership of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Experience acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors
  • Advanced experience with NetSuite or a comparable enterprise ERP system
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, audit readiness, and statutory reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and meet tight deadlines
  • Clear, confident communicator who can explain accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting international entities, including UK and APAC jurisdictions
  • Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based revenue models within an energy or data-driven business
  • Experience with process automation, system implementations, or NetSuite enhancements
  • Familiarity with IFRS and key differences compared to U.S. GAAP
  • Experience in a high-growth or post-acquisition environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting or BI tools
  • Prior experience partnering closely with FP&A or Commercial Finance teams
