Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule & Shift Details
- Shift Structure:
- 2 x 12-hour shifts (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
- 2 x 8-hour shifts (07:00 AM – 03:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dependable Mental Therapy Aide / Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support patients in a behavioral health setting. This role is responsible for assisting with both direct and indirect patient care while promoting a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with clinical staff to support high-quality patient care and positive treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff
- Measure and accurately record vital signs and patient observations
- Assist with patient admissions, documentation, and physical assessments
- Monitor and document patient intake and output
- Collect specimens as required
- Safely transport patients within the facility
- Orient patients to unit routines, policies, and expectations
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene support
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients
- Support patient participation in therapeutic and recreational activities
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations and escalate concerns when necessary
- Maintain a safe and secure environment, including conducting routine safety checks
- Communicate patient status updates effectively to the care team
Required Qualifications
- Recent experience working with psychiatric or behavioral health patients preferred (within the last 2 years)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Must meet all pre-employment health screening requirements
