Inspection Technician | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.
• Document inspection results accurately, including pass/fail status and detailed observations.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate corrective actions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and quality specifications to ensure product compliance.
• Maintain inspection equipment calibration and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement improvements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
• Experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects accurately.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and documentation practices.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) software or quality management systems (QMS).
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
