Job Description

Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Production Control Coordinator to join our label & package company. In this role, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end flow of orders through our facility. This dynamic & dual-function role involves creating and managing the daily production schedule while simultaneously ensuring all raw materials, such as specialized substrates, adhesives, inks, and tooling—are purchased and available just-in-time. You will be the "air traffic controller" of the shop floor, ensuring we meet customer ship dates with maximum efficiency and minimal waste. This role requires tactical and strategic demand-planning skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Daily Scheduling: Develop and maintain the master production schedule for printing presses, finishing equipment, and other dedicated items.
  • Capacity Analysis: Monitor machine uptime and labor availability to identify bottlenecks before they impact delivery dates.
  • Order Tracking: Act as the primary liaison between Sales/Customer Service and the Production floor to provide real-time updates on job status.
  • Workflow Optimization: Batch similar jobs (by material or ink setup) to reduce changeover times and increase throughput.

Procurement & Inventory Control

  • Strategic Sourcing: Purchase paper stocks, films, foils, and inks based on specific job requirements and historical usage.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular cycle counts and manage "Safety Stock" levels for high-use materials to prevent stockouts.
  • Tooling Procurement: Coordinate the ordering of custom dies, plates, and cylinders required for specific label designs.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Data Development: Develop relevant performance metrics (KPIs) to track production efficiency, procurement costs, and schedule attainment.
  • Daily, Weekly, & Monthly Reporting: Monitor ongoing performance trends and issue comprehensive monthly reports to the management team.
  • ERP Management: Maintain data integrity within the ERP/MRP system to ensure reporting accuracy.

General Operations

  • Other Duties: Perform other operational and administrative duties as assigned by management to support the facility's goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Must have strong and accurate data entry skills.
  • Must be willing to participate in regular on-the-job training related to the role.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED, or 5+ years of practical experience and demonstrated mastery in related field.
