Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in ASD self-contained elementary classrooms for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time contract position is located in Hartford, CT, with responsibilities beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 16, 2026. The assignment is onsite, Monday through Friday, with a 35-hour workweek.
Responsibilities include managing an elementary-level caseload focused on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a self-contained special education setting. The teacher will implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with school staff to support student progress.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Active Special Education license in Connecticut
- Experience teaching grades K-6
- Proven ability managing self-contained classrooms with ASD caseloads
- Ability to work onsite during assigned hours
This position offers the chance to provide specialized instruction and support to students in a structured environment. The contract is expected to continue until a permanent hire is found.
