Position Summary

As the chief executive officer, theExecutive Director provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial stewardship for COI. This role is pivotal in driving fundraising, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring the organization delivers high-quality programs that align with its mission.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Vision

  • Develop and execute COIs strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Champion a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and grant requirements.
  • Serve as the primary ambassador for COI, engaging with stakeholders, policymakers, and the community.

Fundraising & Development

  • Lead and diversify fundraising efforts, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and events.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners.
  • Oversee grant writing, reporting, and donor communications, including the Annual Report.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and fiscal accountability.
  • Ensure sound financial controls, risk management, and transparency.
  • Optimize operational efficiency and program effectiveness.

Board Collaboration

  • Serve as the key liaison to the Board, providing updates, insights, and recommendations.
  • Support Board recruitment, development, and engagement in fundraising.

Team & Culture Leadership

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing leadership team and staff.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture.
  • Engage and mobilize volunteers in support of COIs initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree inNonprofit Management, Social Work, Business, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • 5+ years in senior nonprofit leadership(Executive Director, Deputy Director, or equivalent).
  • Proven success infundraising (grants, major gifts, campaigns)and donor stewardship.
  • Financial acumen: experience managing$1M+ budgetsand nonprofit fiscal compliance.
  • Exceptionalpublic speaking, writing, and relationship-buildingskills.
  • Passion forsocial justice, equity, and community empowerment.
