Valley Industries is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accounting Manager to help oversee our financial operations, ensure accuracy in reporting, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and skilled at leading a team in a fast-paced environment. This position will be in office based out of our Paynesville location.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Help lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance standards.
- Manage audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and mentor accounting staff; support team performance and career growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, supervisor experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
