Position: Cath Lab Technician (RCIS considered)

Location: Hickory, NC 28601 (on-site)

Shift: Full-Time, Days

Schedule: Four (4) 10-hour shifts

Call Requirements: On call 1 night per week and every 5th weekend

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, supporting safe, high-quality care throughout the cath lab experience.


Essential Functions

  • Perform aspects of patient care in an environment that prioritizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Formulate individualized plans of care and revise plans as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and overall daily evaluation.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, provider, patient, and family following chain of command as appropriate.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient and protect patient rights.


Must-Haves

  • Current ARRT or RCIS certification (required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (required; may be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position)


Preferred

  • Hospital experience in an acute or rehab setting


Education & Qualifications

  • Accepting candidates with backgrounds as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and Cath Lab Technicians
  • Associate’s degree from a Radiologic Technology program required (education requirement may be waived in exchange for equivalent years of Cath Lab Tech experience)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make sound decisions in a sometimes stressful environment
