Clinical Director of Adult Medicine


Location: On-site – Hartford, Connecticut

Compensation: $220,000 – $295,000 per year

Industry: Healthcare

Sign-on Bonus: $750

Overview

Our client is seeking a Clinical Director of Adult Medicine to lead a high-performing team dedicated to exceptional patient care. This is a prime opportunity for an Internal Medicine or Family Physician ready to combine clinical expertise with leadership impact. You’ll oversee all clinical and administrative aspects of the Adult Medicine department, ensuring top-quality outcomes, operational excellence, and team collaboration.

This role is ideal for a physician passionate about adult medicine and patient-centered care. While prior administrative experience is preferred, motivated physicians with strong clinical judgment and leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Adult Medicine department to ensure efficient, high-quality care delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor physicians, APRNs, and PAs while fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop departmental goals and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver patient care, modeling best practices in evidence-based medicine and documentation.
  • Oversee provider recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance.
  • Monitor outcomes, productivity, and compliance with all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Active or eligible for a Connecticut medical license.
  • Proven ability to lead, communicate effectively, and provide culturally competent care.
  • Experience with EHR systems and data-driven decision-making.
