Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Allegan, MI
Salary Range: $59,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Allegan that are seeking Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, including proper disposal and record-keeping.
- Maintain EHS documentation, permits, and records for regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate safety into manufacturing processes.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
- 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs.
- Ability to conduct EHS audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with all levels of the organization.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems
- HAZWOPER certification (e.g., 40-hour, 24-hour, or 8-hour refresher)
- Professional certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)
- Proficiency in EHS software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Sphera)
