Summary: The Life Enrichment Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of meaningful engagement and recreational programming that promotes residents’ physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. This role works collaboratively with the Life Enrichment Director and interdisciplinary team to encourage resident participation, uphold resident dignity and choice, and foster a vibrant community environment consistent with organizational values, policies, and regulatory standards.
Qualification Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in a customer service, activities, or recreation role preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of recreational, social, and meaningful engagement activities appropriate for older adults, including those with cognitive or physical limitations.
• Ability to engage residents with compassion, patience, creativity, and respect for individual preferences and abilities.
• Basic understanding of aging-related conditions, including dementia, and how they may impact participation and communication.
• Skill in communicating clearly and effectively with residents, families, volunteers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, maintain schedules, and adapt activities to changing resident needs.
• Observational skills to recognize changes in resident condition and appropriately report concerns.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
• Demonstrated dependability, flexibility, and willingness to assist with varied programming and community events.

Essential Functions
• Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating individual and group activities designed to meet residents’ interests, abilities, and assessed needs.
• Encourage and support resident participation in activities, outings, and special events while promoting autonomy, dignity, and personal choice.
• Prepare activity areas, materials, supplies, and equipment before programs and ensure proper cleanup and storage afterward.
• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents unable to participate in group activities, including social visits and meaningful interactions.
• Escort and assist residents to and from activities, outings, and events using appropriate safety practices and mobility assistance techniques.
• Observe residents during activities and report changes in physical condition, behavior, mood, or participation to the Activities Director or nursing staff.
• Assist with documentation related to activity participation, attendance, and program effectiveness as required by policy and regulation.
• Support the coordination of special events, celebrations, community outings, and inter-generational or volunteer-led programs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming activity environment, following infection control, safety, and universal precaution guidelines.
• Communicate respectfully and cooperatively with residents, families, volunteers, and staff to support positive resident experiences.
• Attend required meetings, in-services, and training sessions to maintain competency and support program quality.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including HIPAA and the Code of Conduct, completing required training and reporting concerns promptly.
