JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Technician II performs a variety of tasks related to the production of ceramic substrates boards, including sanding and cleaning. This role involves following detailed work instructions, performing data entry, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The technician collaborates with leads and specialists to meet production schedules and customer demand, participates in problem-solving activities, and reports any issues with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor. The position requires adherence to standard work, participation in continuous improvement initiatives such as DBS concepts and 5S activities, and assisting with product processing as an active member of the production team. The role also includes completing required regulatory documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Sanding and cleaning fragile ceramic substrates boards
• Follow detailed work instructions and perform data entry into electronic routers
• Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained at all times
• Work with Manufacturing Lead and/or Specialist to ensure customer demand and production schedules are met
• Participate in basic problem-solving activities to ensure stable operation of the work cell
• Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to Manufacturing Lead or Value Stream Supervisor
• Observe, maintain, coordinate, and complete standard work
• Participate in DBS concepts and continuous improvement activities within the designated work area
• Sustain 5S activities by maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Participate as an active member of the production team and assist in product processing
• Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company's Quality System
• Complete required documentation relating to regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to read and follow documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and work instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
• Ability to work with others collaboratively
• Must be able to work in areas that may contain adhesives, solvents, and chemical processes
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands at arm's length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and twist
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to observe and inspect small parts over extended periods of time
• Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision
• Must be willing and able to conform to controlled environments with regard to apparel and personal hygiene
Preferred Qualifications
• Medical device manufacturing experience
• Microscope experience
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
