The Hatcher Group is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you’ll support the Military OneSource program by developing clear, accurate, and accessible documentation that helps convey essential information to military families and stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring that written procedures, instructions, reports, presentations, and other deliverables meet high standards of clarity, consistency, and usability.


The ideal candidate is a meticulous and analytical communicator with a strong command of language and a passion for precision. You are experienced in interpreting complex information and transforming it into content that is both accurate and easy to understand. You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are committed to supporting meaningful missions through high-quality documentation.


Our flexible-first work culture empowers you to deliver your best work wherever you are. While remote work is regular part of our operations, candidates within commuting distance of our Bethesda, MD office are strongly preferred to support weekly in-person collaboration and team building.


What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll play a key role in creating engaging and impactful content that resonates with target audiences and captures client brands and messaging. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and interpreting content requirements to create written procedures, instructions, reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
  • Analyzing content for accuracy, grammar, and factual integrity.
  • Ensuring readability and accessibility of content for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts and project teams to gather and verify information.
  • Applying consistent formatting and style guidelines to all written materials.
  • Supporting the development of internal documentation and knowledge-sharing resources.

What You’ll Bring


We’re seeking a skilled and collaborative professional with a passion for clear communication. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in government contracting.
  • Outstanding writing and copyediting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize complex information.
  • Experience working with government or military programs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AP Style conventions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

We are pleased to offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $72,000 per year based on experience and aligned with our internal standards.
