Job Description

Job DescriptionTungsten Alloys Centerless Grinding Technician

Picture this: a workpiece arrives just shy of round. You straighten it by hand—or with a hydraulic press—tweak the guides and blades, dress both wheels, and bring it into tolerance with a clean finish. That’s the craft you’ll practice on our 2nd shift at Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll own the full centerless grinding process—from setup to final measurement—while keeping quality, speed, and safety aligned.

  • Set up and operate centerless grinders, closely monitoring grinding operations and measurement checks.
  • Adjust work guides and grinding blades to achieve round, consistent parts ready for finishing.
  • Straighten parts by hand or with a hydraulic press prior to grinding.
  • Modify operating parameters to maintain tight tolerances and the required surface finish.
  • Replace regulating or grinding wheels whenever needed.
  • Dress both the regulating and grinding wheels as instructed.
  • Spot malfunctions, troubleshoot process issues, and make control adjustments to correct them.

What you bring

  • 1 or more years of manufacturing experience.
  • Comfort using precision instruments: micrometers, comparators, and gauges.
  • Mechanical aptitude paired with solid math capability.
  • Previous grinding experience is a plus.

Compensation & benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401k, STD
  • Paid Vacation Days and Holidays
  • Personal Time
  • And More

Bring your precision mindset to 2nd shift and help us deliver parts that meet exacting standards—every time.
