Job Title: Service Technician
Department: Service
Reports To: Service Manager / Shop Foreman
Compensation:
Our technicians are offered a pay scale consisting of flat rate and production bonus compensation ranging between $33.00 and $50.00, based on experience and qualifications.
Position Summary:
As a Service Technician at Modesto Subaru, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles in alignment with Subaru standards and providing exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle issues, using advanced diagnostic equipment.

Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid level checks, and general mechanic work.

Repair and replace parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other components.

Communicate automotive issues and repairs clearly to customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Plan and follow repair procedures using technical manuals, experience, and repair charts.

Test the functionality of vehicle parts and systems post-repair to ensure quality.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Stay current with training and certification, including ongoing hands-on learning opportunities.

Uphold professional appearance and conduct at all times.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-3 years of related experience or training preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver’s license and ASE certifications are required.

Technical Skills: Proficient in using diagnostic tools and systems such as Reynolds & Reynolds DMS and Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet).
