Job Title: Service Technician

Reports To: Service Manager / Shop Foreman


Compensation:


Our technicians are offered a pay scale consisting of flat rate and production bonus compensation ranging between $33.00 and $50.00, based on experience and qualifications.


Position Summary:


As a Service Technician at Modesto Subaru, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles in alignment with Subaru standards and providing exceptional service to our customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle issues, using advanced diagnostic equipment.

  • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid level checks, and general mechanic work.

  • Repair and replace parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other components.

  • Communicate automotive issues and repairs clearly to customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Plan and follow repair procedures using technical manuals, experience, and repair charts.

  • Test the functionality of vehicle parts and systems post-repair to ensure quality.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Stay current with training and certification, including ongoing hands-on learning opportunities.

  • Uphold professional appearance and conduct at all times.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-3 years of related experience or training preferred.

  • Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver’s license and ASE certifications are required.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using diagnostic tools and systems such as Reynolds & Reynolds DMS and Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet).

  • Required Skills:

    • Strong background in automotive and engine repair.

    • Ability to provide friendly, high-quality customer service.

    • Commitment to maintaining accurate service records.

    • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.

    • Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

    • Commitment to excellence and a focus on quality.
