Job Summary

An AEI Technical Training and Sales Engineer’s role is to promote the successful application of AEI products with an emphasis on our Klemsan product line. The mission of this role will be to train and educate AEI employees, its distributors, and customers by providing high quality training. Additionally, this role will work as a sales engineer partnering with our various customers and representatives to drive sales growth.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 5+ years work experience
  • Experience in the industry (automation, robotics, and/or industrial controls) valued.
  • Highly communicative
  • Solid technical background or technical aptitude.
  • Follow-up, coordination, tracking and planning skills, analytical thinking.
  • Analysis and interpretation, self-development, strategic approach.
  • Proven ability to manage a project and effectively communicate recommendations to AEI Leadership.
  • Basic Marketing / Product Management experience preferred.
  • Sales Planning, Inventory Control, Financial Planning and Strategy preferred.

Position Duties

  • Provides training and support to sales force and distributors to ensure their ongoing ability to sell and support our product lines. Ensures the staff has an effective level of training to keep current with changing technologies and markets in which we participate.
  • Travel to customer or distributor locations to lead remote training programs.
  • Actively work with product management to stay current on new product development, integrate new products into the training department, as well as provide feedback to the product management group.
  • Stay current on product, industry, and competition by coordinating with internal resources, as well as external resources (trade shows, seminars, etc.).
  • Once training programs are established, will be responsible for updating, presenting, and evaluating the effectiveness of various training programs. • Assist in the research and implementation of new ways for communicating and delivering our training programs in the field.
  • Must have good organizational, oral, written and communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must work well independently or in a group.
  • Developing and implementing market plans for North America to obtain market access into new industries, application and customers as well as the coordination of all local marketing activities to obtain product and market goals
  • Developing product pricing and positioning strategies.
  • Supporting Sales with technical and commercial information.
  • Collaborate on the development of effective market communication to both customers and distributors; including product promotion, technical literature, and other relevant media.
  • Representing the company at trade shows and by visiting customers to support sales and develop new business.
  • Define and communicate market and customer requirements through interaction with project teams, business teams, and other departments to maximize market success.
  • Developing product trainings and ensuring an adequate level of product knowledge in the sales team. Direct training of the sales force and sales partners as needed
  • Continually make recommendations to AEI Leadership in order to improve our capabilities to meet industry needs.
  • Special assigned tasks on demand

Must Be Able To

  • Have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time
  • Travel via airplane (domestic and international)
  • Travel overnight 35-50% as required
  • Continuous communication: verbal and written, phone and electronic • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds (sample, demos, and literature)
