Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Lees Summit, MO, focusing on supporting students with Intellectual Disability and Autism. This contract position runs through the end of the 2025-2026 school year and involves working onsite Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction to a caseload of 8-10 students with special needs, primarily Intellectual Disability and Autism.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) on site to support student development.
• Utilize the Unique Learning Systems curriculum supplied by the district.
• Work closely with an Autism Specialist for ongoing training and support.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with staff and families to support student progress.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certified Special Education Teacher.
• Experience working with students with Intellectual Disability and Autism preferred.
• Ability to implement specialized curriculum and behavioral strategies.
• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals and specialists.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Contract Duration: ASAP through 05/22/2026
Hours: Full-time, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
