Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our culinary team at LR Palm House. As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating exquisite desserts and baked goods that enhance the dining experience for our guests. You will lead the pastry kitchen, oversee production, and collaborate with other culinary staff to deliver exceptional food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
Dessert Creation:
- Develop and prepare a variety of high-quality pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts in line with the hotel's standards and seasonal offerings.
Menu Development:
- Design and innovate dessert menus and special pastry items, including customizing offerings for events, banquets, and special occasions.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all pastries and baked goods meet the hotel's quality standards in taste, presentation, and freshness.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, including ordering and maintaining stock levels. Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train pastry staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operation of the pastry kitchen.
Sanitation and Safety:
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Guest Interaction:
- Occasionally interact with guests to gather feedback on pastries and address any special requests or dietary concerns.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Head Chefs and other culinary team members to ensure seamless integration of pastries into the overall dining experience.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a high-end hotel or restaurant environment.
Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred. Specialized training in pastry arts is a plus.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert presentation, and flavor profiles. Ability to create both classic and innovative pastries.
- Experience in leading and managing a team, with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to design aesthetically pleasing and delicious desserts.
- High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of pastry preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling delicate pastry work.
Licenses or Certificates
- Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
Grooming
- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (Specific standards are available).
