Bachelor's degree, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiation Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity offers a skilled Radiation Therapist a chance to apply expertise in a Level 2 Trauma Center environment. The role involves delivering precise radiation therapy treatments to cancer patients, ensuring proper positioning and patient monitoring to maximize treatment effectiveness and safety. This contract position spans 13 weeks with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., eliminating weekend work.
Responsibilities include:
- Administering radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions and established protocols
- Executing accurate patient positioning relative to radiation beams and treatment areas
- Monitoring patients for clinical changes and reporting any complications promptly
- Applying radiation physics principles and safety measures, including using radiation badges
- Maintaining thorough documentation and quality assurance records
- Conducting pain assessments and intervening per procedural guidelines
- Performing additional duties as necessary to support department operations
Qualifications and Experience:
- North Dakota Radiation Therapy license or ability to obtain a permit before start
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or completing certification within six months of starting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of two years experience in radiation therapy
- Recent travel assignment experience preferred (three assignments)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
