Our high-volume towing division (~$800K–$1M monthly revenue, ~2,500 calls/month) thrives on innovation, community involvement, and stability. We’re seeking a dynamic leader to drive our towing operations to new heights.
The Role
As the Towing Operations Manager, you’ll oversee our towing division, including a fleet of ~45 trucks (light to heavy-duty, including tractor-trailers) and a team of ~50 drivers and dispatchers. You’ll run the department like your own business, managing P&L, operations, and team performance while collaborating with other departments (automotive shop, collision center, heavy fleet repair). This role requires a hands-on leader with deep towing industry experience, ready to jump in, lead by example, and boost team morale.
Key Responsibilities

Lead ~50 staff (hiring, firing, training, dispatching) across two entities: our main towing operation and a smaller subsidiary (~7-8 trucks).

-
Handle contracts, bids, and inter-departmental collaboration (e.g., with accounting).
-
Supervise complex jobs (e.g., accident recoveries) and operate equipment as needed.
-
Build and optimize a support team to streamline operations.
-
Ensure compliance with safety programs and operational deadlines.
Must-Haves
-
Proven towing industry experience, including operating heavy-duty trucks and supervising complex recoveries.
-
Strong management experience (leading teams, hiring/firing).
-
Financial acumen (P&L management, profitability, budgeting).
-
Ability to earn respect through hands-on expertise and leadership.
Nice-to-Haves
-
Knowledge of fleet maintenance (basic understanding of service needs; mechanics on staff).
-
Experience with diverse hauling or out-of-state operations.
-
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and boost team morale.
