We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a Back Office position in New Providence. This role involves assisting healthcare providers with patient care and managing various clinical and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes and prepare rooms for consultations.
- Perform vital checks and manage room loading.
- Assist the provider with patient care, including setting up and breaking down office procedures.
- Take manual blood pressure readings.
- Update and manage electronic medical records (EMR) using Athena.
- Scan documents and update patient charts, including medication information.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness and organization of supply closets.
- Restock rooms and manage inventory.
- Triage phone calls for physician or patient inquiries.
- Update patient records and input orders.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of medical assisting experience.
- Experience with EMR systems, preferably Athena or Epic.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Medical Assistant (MA) preferred, but not required; certification must be from an accredited program.
- Experience in high volume settings, handling 80-100 patients a day.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in Orthopedics or Podiatry is a plus.
- Proactive and outgoing with strong multitasking abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and capable of managing patient flow efficiently.
- Strong customer service and bedside manner.
- Flexibility to work shifts and ability to travel to other offices with reimbursement for travel.
Work Environment
This position involves working a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with two Saturdays required per month. The starting time is 7:45 AM, with end times of either 6:15 PM or 5:15 PM, with late nights on Mondays and Wednesdays. Saturdays are 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Staff may be required to cover other locations, ensuring travel does not exceed 30 minutes from New Providence or home. The office sees approximately 80-100 patients daily, with two doctors on site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
