Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A position is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in school-based services to support students with autism in an elementary school setting. This contract role spans the 2025/2026 school year and offers a focused opportunity to deliver therapy in a single school location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students with autism across varying communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize evidence-based techniques tailored to support communication, social interaction, and academic success
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress notes in accordance with school and regulatory requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum within an educational environment
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to special education and therapy services
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff and families
Location and Hours:
- Located in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania
- Contract position for the 2025-2026 school year
- Approximately 30-32 hours per week at one elementary school site
