Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Cost Analyst to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and analyzing the company's inventory costs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls, and supporting pricing strategies. The Cost Analyst will collaborate with management to drive cost efficiencies, improve profitability, and support key financial and operational processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of inventory management, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Cost Management: Regularly analyze and adjust system inventory costs to ensure they are accurate and reflective of current data.
- Tariff and Pricing Oversight: Maintain costs and systems in line with U.S. Tariffs, ensuring updated information is provided to management so that pricing remains accurate. Stay informed about changes in the political and tariff environment.
- Internal Control Maintenance: Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure the timely and accurate posting of inventory transactions.
- Inventory Balances:Oversee and monitor routine inventory controls to ensure the accuracy of inventory balances.
- Manage monthly cycle counting procedures to verify inventory consistency.
- Cost/Pricing Adjustments: Prepare quarterly cost and pricing adjustments for major customers, ensuring that pricing reflects both internal and external market factors.
- Process Design and Documentation: Participate in the design of complex inventory transaction processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards. Support the documentation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to inventory and cost management.
- Inventory Closing and Reconciliation: Perform monthly inventory closing and reconciliation activities, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis.
- Profitability Analysis: Prepare monthly profitability analysis for products and collaborate with management to create and implement action plans to improve margins.
- Overhead Cost Management: Assist with the annual overhead cost roll, ensuring system inputs are correct and costs are recalculated accurately.
- Audit Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of the annual audit in relation to inventory and cost management areas.
- Physical Inventory Support: Assist with coordinating periodic full physical inventory counts, ensuring thorough preparation and accurate results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost analysis, inventory management, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory control processes.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the recent tariff and pricing strategies is a plus.
