We are a team-oriented company committed to quality craftsmanship, safety, and project efficiency. We are looking for an experienced leader to take charge of our field operations.
Position Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Journeyman Foreman with extensive experience in structural steel erection and crew management. You will be responsible for leading and directing a crew, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to precise specifications. This role requires expert knowledge of blueprints, metal building components, and all relevant safety standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Crew Leadership: Supervise, train, and manage a team of apprentices and ironworkers, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Project Execution: Oversee daily on-site operations for structural steel and pre-engineered metal building erection from start to finish.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read, interpret, and implement complex construction plans, blueprints, and shop drawings to guide the crew.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce all OSHA, company, and client safety regulations. Conduct daily safety briefings (tailgate talks) and risk assessments.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work, including red iron assembly, bolting, and welding, meets structural and quality standards.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy equipment relevant to steel erection (e.g., forklifts, aerial work platforms, rigging).
Qualifications:
- Journeyman status or equivalent verifiable experience (5+ years preferred) in structural steel or PEMB erection.
- Proven experience as a Foreman or Crew Leader.
- Expert ability to read and interpret construction blueprints.
- OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
