About the Opportunity
Northwest Talent Solutions (NWTS) is recruiting on behalf of a large, nationally recognized construction organization seeking an experienced M/E Engineer III to support complex, high-profile construction projects.
This role is responsible for mechanical and electrical engineering coordination across preconstruction, field execution, and commissioning, with increasing responsibility for system analysis, sequencing, quality assurance, and mentoring junior engineers. The position is well-suited for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working in the field, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to safe, high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Preconstruction Support

Develop budgetary mechanical and electrical estimates based on schematic and program-level design information

Review mechanical and electrical system options and perform systems analysis to support project planning

Assist with scope development and coordination during the bid and subcontractor selection process
Project Execution & Field Engineering

Coordinate M/E scopes of work and sequencing requirements to support project schedules

Perform jobsite inspections to ensure work meets specifications, quality standards, and schedule expectations

Review design documents to identify constructability or quality risks and support quality control initiatives
Commissioning & Close-Out

Develop pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures

Verify contractor execution of functional testing and support commissioning activities

Review and approve shop drawings and submittals prior to design team submission

Generate and manage commissioning documentation through project close-out
Leadership & Continuous Improvement

Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced engineers

Support safety, quality, and inclusion initiatives across project teams

Contribute to the development of tools, processes, and best practices to improve project outcomes
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)

5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience

Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in a construction environment

Ability to travel frequently and work on active jobsites

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications

OSHA 10 certification (or ability to complete within required timeframe)

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) credentials

Experience with commissioning, system testing, and field quality inspections

Familiarity with Lean construction or continuous improvement methodologies

Valid driver's license
Work Environment & Travel
