Salary: $162,000 per yearJob SummaryThe Cost/Pricing Analyst II supports the Chief of Pricing by providing expert guidance and recommendations on a wide array of cost and pricing matters critical to Air Force acquisition. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of complex pricing proposals and cost objectives in compliance with Federal, DoD, and Air Force contracting regulations.As the primary cost and price analyst for complex and sensitive contracts, this position works closely with Contracting Officers to deliver data-driven pricing analyses that directly support mission-critical and national security acquisitions.Duties and Responsibilities
- Advisory Support: Provide expert guidance to procurement personnel, delivering practical advice and technical insight to resolve complex cost and pricing issues.
- Proposal Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive reviews of contract price proposals to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), validating reasonableness, accuracy, and completeness.
- Pricing Analysis: Serve as the primary cost/price analyst for sensitive or high-risk contracts, developing sound pricing strategies and cost objectives.
- Technical Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on pricing matters, advising specialists on best practices and regulatory application.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Contracting Officers to establish defensible cost objectives aligned with Federal, DoD, and Air Force pricing policies.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Participate in short-term and long-term teams addressing unique or complex pricing challenges across the acquisition lifecycle.
- Data Analysis and Documentation: Utilize advanced Excel-based analysis to evaluate data, prepare cost models, and develop accurate pricing documentation for large-scale agency acquisitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), or industry experience, including at least one (1) year within the past five years supporting a SAP or SCI environment.
- License: Valid and active driver’s license.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility for a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI Poly).
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesRequired Skills
- Advanced knowledge of pricing principles, cost analysis techniques, and CAS regulations.
- Strong understanding of Federal, DoD, and Air Force pricing regulations and contracting policies.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, proposal evaluation, and cost reporting.
- Ability to work independently with limited technical guidance on complex pricing issues.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting complex or sensitive acquisition programs.
- Proven ability to develop defensible cost objectives for high-visibility contracts.
Additional Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey technical pricing recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to make informed decisions under limited supervision in high-stakes environments.
TravelAbility to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required; however, travel is expected to be infrequent.Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Repetitive motions involving arms, wrists, hands, and fingers are common. Occasional standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Close vision is required.Work EnvironmentThis position is performed primarily in a temperature-controlled office environment with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
