Circular Services is the largest privately held recycling and organics service provider in the U.S. It operates over 25 facilities serving major long-term municipal and commercial contracts. The mission of Circular Services is to keep valuable materials in circulation and minimize the cost and environmental impact of landfills. The company services municipal contracts with some of the largest and fastest growing cities in the U.S. including New York City, Austin, San Antonio, and Phoenix.
About the Role:
The Operations & Strategy Analyst will support Circular Services by providing analytical and project management capacity across East Division facilities and companywide strategic initiatives. This role is designed for a detail-oriented, highly adaptable individual who is as comfortable gathering data on the facility floor as they are analyzing and presenting that data. The Analyst will work closely with the Director of Strategic Operations, facility leaders, and other senior staff to translate operational realities into actionable insights, help drive strategic initiatives, and ensure clear follow-through on high priority
projects.
Responsibilities:
Project & Operational Analysis
- Collect, structure, and analyze operational and financial data directly from facilities, including site visits and close coordination with operations managers.
- Build clear, practical models and dashboards to support decision making across facilities.
- Conduct research and benchmarking on best practices, emerging technologies, and market opportunities.
Strategic Project Support
- Provide analytical and project management support for companywide strategic initiatives, including new technology pilots, contract development, and capital investment evaluations.
- Assist in preparing materials for executive and external stakeholders, including memos, presentations, and business cases.
- Support cross-functional teams to ensure timely progress and accountability on major initiatives.
Close Partnership with Operations
- Work side-by-side with facility leaders to identify opportunities to troubleshoot issues, and capture accurate operational data.
- Serve as a bridge between operations and corporate leadership, ensuring facility perspectives are incorporated into strategic decision making.
- Act as a resource for operations teams, helping translate analysis into practical improvements.
Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain project trackers and performance scorecards to monitor progress and outcomes.
- Support development of reports for Operations Leadership, municipal partners, and executive leadership.
- Capture and document lessons learned to inform future efforts.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2–4 years of experience in operations, investment/financial analysis, consulting, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data sets and building financial/operational models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear takeaways.
- Willingness to spend time in facilities to understand operations firsthand and collect primary data.
- High adaptability and eagerness to work on a broad mix of projects, from detailed operational analysis to companywide strategic initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree
