Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify conformance.
• Generate and maintain accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 or customer requirements.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances, discrepancies, and critical defects to relevant teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality departments to resolve inspection issues and support corrective actions.
• Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications to define inspection criteria.
• Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained according to established procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Expertise in operating a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs).
• Demonstrated experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with industry standards such as AS9102.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and their application.
• Ability to accurately document inspection results and generate comprehensive FAI reports.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM programming and operation
• Advanced GD&T certification (e.g., ASME GDTP)
• Familiarity with CAD software for model viewing and analysis
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
• Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
