Founding Principal - The Greater Cincinnati School
We are seeking an experienced principal that is looking to start the next phase of their career by becoming the next Founding Principal in The Greater Schools network, opening The Greater Cincinnati School.
The Greater Schools network is a growing network of private non-religious schools in Ohio. We are one of the most innovative schools in the nation. Our mission is to revolutionize schooling for kids from low-income backgrounds with whole-child and individualized learning.
Over the next three years, the role of the Founding Principal is to learn how to teach the GDS way and train with AJ Stich, the Founding Principal of The Greater Dayton School. The timeline below gives our best forecast for what the role will be in the coming years:
25-26 - Managing, teaching, and training at The Greater Dayton School
26-27 - Managing, teaching, and training at The Greater Dayton School
27-28 - Admissions, Recruiting, and preparing to open The Greater Cincinnati School
A part of the job will be learning our way of teaching, which is mastery based and self-paced. It is radically different from traditional schools, which are dominated by whole class teaching.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience
Minimum of 3 years as principal, assistant principal or equivalent school leadership role
Minimum - 2 years working in school(s) serving kids from low-income communities
Responsibilities:
Learn how to teach in a self-paced and mastery based classroom
Training and mentorship from AJ Stich
Build school culture, recruit and retain teachers, develop curriculum, and live our model
Teacher Accountability, Coaching, and Training (8-10 teachers)
Oversee Instructional Programs (e.g. Intervention, Field Trips, Teacher Training)
Oversee Operational Programs and managers (e.g. Facilities, Food Service, etc.)
Dean of students for a grade band
Compensation + Details:
Hours - 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday + some Saturdays and evenings, as needed
Calendar - 12 month employee
Pay - Negotiable, based on experience
