Responsibilities

This is a senior-level helicopter pilot position. The incumbent in this position is responsible for overseeing helicopter operations conducted by the Seminole Hard Rock Support Services Aviation Department including, transport passengers to local destinations, public service/law enforcement support activities, maintenance tests, supervision and scheduling of pilots and other administrative duties. This position reports to the Aviation Director and is an exempt position.

  • Oversees day to day helicopter operations.
  • Implements and manages Pilot scheduling, maintenance schedule coordination, pilot training and standardization.
  • Assists with the hiring of new flight crews and development of the helicopter training budget.
  • Operates all Tribal helicopters in order to transport STOF Staff, Tribal Members as well as other general passengers to local destinations.
  • Performs preflight routine, including consulting with weather forecasts, Notices to Airmen and dispatchers, which provides the information necessary to create a flight plan.
  • Plans flight, following Company policys.
  • Inspects the helicopter airframe, powerplant, rotor systems, flight controls, systems and instruments before beginning a flight.
  • Documents specified information in flight record, such as time in flight, destination, maintenance discrepancies etc.
  • Notifies maintenance and dispatching in a timely manner of any discrepancies and works directly with maintenance technicians to identify and rectify these discrepancies.
  • Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of aircraft.
  • Must adhere to all SHRSS policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned


Qualifications

Experience:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot-Helicopter License is required. Second Class Medical Certificate is required.
  • Chief Pilot, Helicopter must have completed 8,000 hours Total Time in helicopters;
  • 8,000 hours Pilot in Command in helicopters;
  • 1,000 hours single engine turbine helicopters and 1,000 hours on PIC multi-engine helicopter.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience operating under Part 135, 133, and 137 is required.
  • Ability to operate helicopters in adverse conditions, day or night, on or off airport is required. Ability to work a flexible schedule included evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Supported Manufacturers: Airbus Helicopter, Leonardo Helicopters

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Airline Transport Pilot, Helicopter Rating certification is preferred. 8,000 hours Total Time in helicopters; 7,500 hours PIC helicopters; 500 hours external load time; Ten (10) years of experience operating under Part 135; 3,000 hours of Airbus AS350 experience and Night Vision Goggle experience is highly desired. FAA Check Airman 135/NVG highly desired. Instrument/ATP.

Work Environment:

The work is primarily performed in a helicopter cockpit. Not all helicopters are air-conditioned. While in the field must be able to tolerate fluctuations in temperature while performing essential functions of the job. The individual may be exposed to inclement weather conditions such as heat, dust, rain, mud and noise. Pilots face some types of job hazards. Aerial Applicators for example, may be exposed to toxic chemicals and seldom have the benefit of a regular landing strip. All pilots face the risk of hearing loss due to prolonged exposure to engine noise.
