Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Care Center Operations Coordinator supports the efficient day-to-day operations of the Lucy Smith King Care Center. This role is responsible for coordinating staffing, managing medical supply logistics, maintaining accurate patient documentation, and providing administrative support to the care center team. This position is key to reducing the administrative burden on the Director of Nursing and ensuring smooth, mission-driven care delivery.
This role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act based on its administrative scope and independent decision-making responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- - Manage the clinical staffing schedule for LSKCC, including coverage coordination and communication with the care team.
- - Support the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new clinical staff in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and HR.
- - Oversee medical supply inventory and ordering, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and readiness.
- - Serve as the point of contact for daily operations, including administrative support for the care center team.
- - Welcome and orient families, visitors, and volunteers; offer facility tours and general support.
- - Serve as primary or backup coverage for the care center front desk, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and routing calls and messages appropriately.
- - Provide administrative support including photocopying, scanning, filing, and supply restocking as needed.
- - Coordinate with volunteers to share visitor reception and hospitality responsibilities.
- - Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring timely setup and scanning into the EMR system.
- - Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator to support scheduling, documentation, and communication.
- - Assist in ensuring the care center remains in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- - Coordinate and manage the SRNA bath schedule to ensure consistent and timely personal care for patients.
- - Respond to real-time needs within the care center to keep operations running smoothly.
- - Perform other duties as assigned to support the care center’s mission and team.
Qualifications
- - Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare operations, care coordination, or clinical administrative support.
- - Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration or a related field required.
- - Proficiency with EMR systems and medical supply processes strongly preferred.
- - Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
- - Demonstrated commitment to hospice philosophy and patient-centered care.
