Position: Surgical Technologist Department: OR
Location: Marlette, MI Hours: CasualAspire Rural Health Systems is seeking a casual Surgical Technologist in our OR department. We are looking for those who have a great attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals who are constantly striving to provide the highest quality of services for our patient.QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligibility to obtain certification or at least 5 years experience as an uncertified scrub tech
• If not certified-obtain certification within two years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Experience working in a hospital or surgical center setting
• Advanced certifications such as Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills developed through prior clinical experience
• Additional training in specialized surgical areas such as orthopedics or cardiovascular surgery

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Surgical Technologist utilizes their knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures daily to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team efficiently. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to manage surgical instruments and supplies accurately, ensuring nothing is missing or contaminated. Effective communication skills enable the technologist to anticipate and respond promptly to the needs of surgeons and nurses during procedures. Problem-solving abilities are important when addressing equipment malfunctions or unexpected situations in the operating room.
