Position Summary:
American Equipment is a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial cranes, specializing in providing high-quality and reliable solutions for various industrial applications.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated “hands-on” Accountant to join our team at Patriot Crane and Hoist, a division of American Equipment Holdings. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the Controller to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information. This is a key role within our organization, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions and reporting.
- Complete month-end close procedures for accurate accounting and timely preparation of financial reports.
- Accurate accounts payable processing.
- Accurate accounts receivable processing.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper recording and documentation of financial transactions.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports as requested.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; previous experience as a degreed accountant is preferred.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, including advanced skills in Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- CPA or CMA certification is not required but desirable.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time office position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a full-time onsite position; 8-hour days, Monday through Friday.
