Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Vernon & San Bernardino, CA | Full-Time | Onsite | $130,000-$150,000 DOE
An established and growing company in the food manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead safety operations across its Vernon and San Bernardino facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building and sustaining safety programs, systems, and compliance frameworks from the ground up.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing safety, be bilingual in English and Spanish, and bring a proactive approach to driving a culture of safety excellence across both locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead and facilitate employee safety training, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee environmental compliance programs, including waste management, air quality, and wastewater handling.
- Partner closely with plant and operations leadership to integrate safety practices into daily operations and drive accountability.
- Maintain all required records, documentation, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all EHS matters and external agency communications.
- Participate in emergency response planning and ensure readiness for potential plant incidents.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required due to workforce composition.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage safety programs independently.
- Experience with environmental programs such as wastewater and hazardous waste management a plus.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment where structure and systems are being established.
